World Suicide Prevention Day 10th September
30 August 2018
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) takes place on 10th September each year, to bring us all together to prevent suicide. This year the theme is 'working together to prevent suicide.'
WSPD is organised by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
There are range of activities going on around Wirral to help mark World Suicide Prevention Day including a bike ride around the peninsula, 'From Darkness into Light' walks and a Mental Health Awareness evening. Find out more here.

Zero Suicide Alliance
The Zero Suicide Alliance has produced free suicide prevention training available to all on their website.
It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Starting a conversation
If we are concerned about the mental wellbeing of someone close to us, be it family, friends or colleagues, it can sometimes be difficult to start a conversation about mental health. The Samaritans have a section on their website dedicated to providing advice and support for those looking to talk about mental health with others.
