‘Shine a Light’ for Wirral nurses on International Nurses Day
International Nurses Day is observed around the world on May 12 each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society.
This year more than any, we want to thank our nurses for the incredible work they do to protect the health of people in Wirral.
2020 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who founded modern nursing and pioneered infection control, but is also famous for her lamp.
We are asking people to join us this evening in showing their thanks and to participate in International Nurses Day by putting a light (a visible symbol of welcome, hope and warmth) or a drawing of a light, in their window at 8.30pm on 12 May.
