Healthcare options in Wirral this Easter

Your GP practice will be closed this Bank Holiday weekend. However, if you need to access healthcare advice or treatment then there are still a range of services available.

 

Pharmacies

Pharmacists can provide quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses such as aches, pains, coughs and colds. There are pharmacies open in Wirral over the bank holiday where you can just drop in for advice without an appointment. NHS 111

If you have an illness that is important, but not an emergency you can call NHS 111 for free. It’s staffed by a team of fully trained call advisers supported by nurses, paramedics and doctors. They can assess your needs and guide you to locally available services.  This might be:
• Speaking to a nurse over the phone for advice
• Arranging an urgent prescription at a pharmacy
• Directing you to the GP Out of Hours Service
• Directing you to out of hours dentist
• Directing you to a Walk in Centre or Minor Injury Service

 

Urgent GP Appointments

During normal working days, you should contact your GP practice as usual. When your practice is closed for the Bank Holiday weekend, you can get an appointment by calling 0151 652 6077 between 10am- 6pm. Outside of these hours, phone NHS 111.

 

Walk in Centres and Minor Injuries and Illness Services

At our Walk-in centre services, you can walk-in to be seen and treated for minor injuries and illnesses by an experienced healthcare professional, no appointment is needed.

X-ray: Open at 9am – 8.30pm.
