'Grab a jab' at Wirral's walk-in vaccination clinics this weekend

This ‘Grab a jab’ weekend, the NHS in Wirral is encouraging adults of all ages to get their vaccinations at one of our GP-led walk-in sites, making it easier and more convenient than ever for people who haven’t yet had their vaccine to come forward without needing to book an appointment in advance.

People are encouraged to come forward, even if they do not have an NHS number or registration with a GP, and if people have questions about the vaccine before having it, they will be able to speak to a member of staff first

The walk-in sites are a chance for younger people aged 18-24, who began to receive their invitations this week, to get vaccinated quickly and easily.

We also hope that people who may have been invited for their vaccine previously but haven’t yet had the chance for whatever reason, will take the opportunity to come along to one of the walk-in sites this weekend.

A full list of walk-in sites in Wirral can be found below so people can find the most convenient venue for them.

If you’ve already had your first dose, remember that having your second dose is vital to getting longer lasting and maximum protection offered by the vaccines, with recent research also showing they are highly effective against the Delta/Indian strain of the virus.

In addition to the local offer, all adults can still book at one of the 1,600 vaccination centre, pharmacy or general practice sites across the country that are available through the national booking service. Vaccination centres are also available in convenient locations such as mosques, museums and football stadiums.

People who cannot go online can contact their GP or call the national booking service on 119 instead to book their jab.

In line with updated JCVI guidance, people in Wirral aged 39 and under and all pregnant women will be offered the Pfizer vaccine.

People who already have an appointment for this weekend at one of the sites offering walk-in vaccines should still attend at their timed slot and they will receive their vaccine as planned.
